Welcome to Modelrailshop, the online home of Frizinghall Models and Railways (FMR). Here you’ll find a huge selection of new model trains and model railway sets from gauges N to G. Frizinghall Models & Railway is a model shop which has been in business for over 30 years. We understand your passion for durable, high-quality, perfectly details model railway kits and train sets at a very competitive price.
Whatever you’re looking for at FMR we’re sure to have plenty to choose from including many train sets, track, locomotives and accessories for model railways too. You can order online and we’ll be happy to ship wherever you need it. If you prefer to view we have a 1000 sq ft showrooom open from 9.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday. We are situated about half way between Bradford and Shipley just off the A650 (canal Road), take a left at Bradford Motorcycles into Hillam Road and straight on through the metal gates.
We stock all the major (and many minor) brands such as Hornby, Bachmann, Graham Farish and Peco for your trains and track plus all the buildings and landscaping accessories your model railway needs to become its own miniature world.
Whether you’re just starting out in the world of model railways, or you’re an expert in model railways, Modelrailshop has something for everyone. We’ve got starter sets to get you up and rolling, plenty of additions for your growing model railway, plus accessories and kits for the advanced modeller too.
Most people start with ‘OO’ gauge, or you may prefer 'N' gauge if space is at a premium, or go large outdoors with 'G' scale. Whichever you choose you will find a something at FMR to fire your imagination. Hornby and Bachmann have some excellent train sets in '00' for the novice. You’ll get everything you need to set up your first model railway including locomotive, coaches or wagons, track, controller and with Hornby a track mat – which will give you ideas for your initial layout and the expansion of your model railway too. From here you can expand, adding track and buildings, landscape details and much more, plus further model trains to eventually create your own true-to-life, busy rail network.
For more realistic control why not invest in a DCC control system which allows you to run more than one locomotive on a track? We have a choice from basic to advanced plus the conversion decoders for the locomotives. Our DCC advisor can assist whether you are a beginner or advanced user.
