In mid 1944 the German Air Ministry ordered a long distance, long-range, high speed, tailness bomber with a bomb load of over 4.000 kg. This plane was also intended to attack New York during World War II. With 6 BMW 109-003A engines the Arado E555 had a max. speed of 860 km/h. This project was called off due to a questionable decision on the part of the German Air Ministry; on 28.12.1944 all work on it creased.
