After the USS Voyager had been transported into the remote Delta Quadrant, they meet with representatives of the humanoid Kazon, a nation organised in sects. Inaccordance with their aggressive and offensive appearance these Nomads travel through the universe plundering and taking what they need to live from other nations. The Kazon were originally slaves of a similarly humanoid tribe that had conquered the Kazon's own planet. During their liberation the Kazon took over a large number of vessels from the fleeing Trabe. They thereby acquired ownership of highly developed Spaceships and commenced their nomadic existence.
